hi,

i have an Artec T1 USB-DVB-T stick. This device have unrecognized
product ids tells lsusb,
in cold state:
ID 05d8:810b Ultima Electronics Corp.
in warm state:
ID 05d8:810c Ultima Electronics Corp.

I have pictures of the stick here:

My first try to get the stick to work was editing the product ids:
diff /tmp/linux-2.6.16/drivers/media/dvb/dvb-usb/dvb-usb-ids.h
/usr/src/linux/drivers/media/dvb/dvb-usb/dvb-usb-ids.h
74,75c74,75
< #define USB_PID_ULTIMA_TVBOX_USB2_COLD 0x8109
< #define USB_PID_ULTIMA_TVBOX_USB2_WARM 0x810a
---
#define USB_PID_ULTIMA_TVBOX_USB2_COLD 0x810b
#define USB_PID_ULTIMA_TVBOX_USB2_WARM 0x810c
With this changes the stick loads the firmware successfully, the LED is
on. Some devices are created, but the driver create no frontend, dmesg says:
dvb-usb: no frontend was attached by 'Artec T1 USB2.0'

is there a way to get the stick to work?
dmesg says:
usb 4-3: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 15
usb 4-3: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice
dvb-usb: found a 'Artec T1 USB2.0' in cold state, will try to load a
firmware
dvb-usb: downloading firmware from file 'dvb-usb-dibusb-6.0.0.8.fw'
usb 4-3: USB disconnect, address 15
dvb-usb: generic DVB-USB module successfully deinitialized and disconnected.
usb 4-3: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 16
usb 4-3: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice
dvb-usb: found a 'Artec T1 USB2.0' in warm state.
dvb-usb: will pass the complete MPEG2 transport stream to the software
demuxer.
DVB: registering new adapter (Artec T1 USB2.0).
dvb-usb: no frontend was attached by 'Artec T1 USB2.0'
dibusb: This device has the Panasonic ENV77H11D5 onboard.
input: IR-receiver inside an USB DVB receiver as /class/input/input6
dvb-usb: schedule remote query interval to 150 msecs.

is there a way to get the stick to work?
It is not so sure, that this stick is based on dib3000 as
the other ultima-device has been.

Is there any way to open device to see the ICs used?

regards,
Patrick.

Unfortunality: no (there are no screws and I will not lost the guarantee)
Maybe the information is in a usbnoop log like this?

I'm sorry, I'm unable to read this, what program did you use for capturing
this file?

What tool could I use (in Linux) to make this readable?

Patrick.

is the key :).

What can you read under the sticker?

The other picture just shows the USB controller and the tuner (under the
metal box) - most likely microtune mt2060.

Patrick.

OK. It is dib3000p-based.

Can you try the following:

hg pull http://linuxtv.org/hg/~pb/v4l-dvb.stk3000p

+ the attached patch

If the firmware is not a problem (which could be the case as your
previous result was not find a frontend) it should work - this
hg-repository also includes the mt2060-tuner-driver you'd need, which is,
not yet, in the main tree.

best regards,
Patrick.
